Afghan transit trade: Pakistan imposes restrictions and conditions
Shares
Pakistan has implemented a measure to combat the illicit importation of goods into the country. Under the Afghan transit trade agreement, a processing fee of 10 percent has been levied on specific imported items, as per a customs department notification issued by the Federal Government.
This fee, calculated as 10 percent ad valorem based on the goods' original value, is required to be paid in advance during the declaration process for Afghan transit commercial goods.
It's worth noting that goods declarations submitted before October 3 are exempt from these new regulations.
The affected items encompass confectioneries, chocolates, footwear, various machinery, blankets, home textiles, and garments.
