Massive frauds and bogus voting revealed in Afghanistan presidential elections

KABUL - Massive frauds and bogus voting has been revealed in Afghanistan presidential elections as the number of votes and the biometric verification have huge differences, Afghan media had reported.

Documents from voting centers from across several provinces have revealed huge differences.

In Zabul, Kandahar, Daikundi, Helmand and Herat provinces that show a discrepancy in some provinces between biometric registered votes and result sheets, TOLO News has reported.

These documents show the number of votes tallied on result sheets to be several times that of voters registered on biometric devices.

One document revealed that only nine voters were registered by biometric devices at a polling station in Helmand, but the tallied votes on the results sheet was four hundred and eleven votes. Also, three hundred and sixty-six voters had been registered to vote, but 421 votes were cast in the ballot box.

“The commission is required to act on the basis of the law and established procedures and to ensure transparency,” said Noor Rahman Akhlaqi, a member of Abdullah’s team.
