US announces new counter terrorism strategy

The United States has announced a new counter terrorism strategy for tackling the threat of extremism.

Talking to newsmen in Washington, US National Security Adviser John Bolton said the key thrust of the new strategy includes pursuing extremists to their source and cutting them off from their sources of support.

He said new strategy documents outline a Trump administration’s blueprint for tackling the threat of extremism from military action to intelligence operations to cooperating with partners and allies and the use of sanctions and other financial tools.
