The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaka Ashraf, has announced a reward of PKR 1 million for Pakistan's batsman Fakhar Zaman in recognition of his outstanding performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match against New Zealand at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Fakhar Zaman, a left-handed opener, scored an unbeaten century, making 126 runs from 81 deliveries with eight fours and 11 sixes. This victory has put Pakistan in contention for qualification in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, with hopes pinned on defeating England, New Zealand losing to Sri Lanka, and Australia or South Africa defeating Afghanistan.
In a press release, the PCB announced Chairman Zaka Ashraf's generous reward to Fakhar Zaman during a phone conversation, in which he praised Fakhar Zaman's exceptional innings. Furthermore, the PCB chief extended his best wishes to Fakhar Zaman and the entire Pakistan team for their future matches, expressing optimism for more outstanding performances and success.
