Murad reviews solid waste power projects

A high level meeting on project of producing electricity from garbage and waste held with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said seventeen thousand tons of garbage is lifted from Karachi daily and fifty megawatt power plant can be installed by giving three thousand tons of garbage to the plant.

He said with using solid wast we can establish five power plants of fifty megawatts and a cumulative two hundred fifty megawatts of electricity can be produced.

Syed Murad Ali Shah directed Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani that Solid Waste Management should device a policy for giving garbage to the power plant.

He said that there is a proposal of installing such power plant at Chakra Goth in Karachi which is land fill site.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said we have to resolve the Karachi’s water problem and energy problem of the province.
