China will continue to act as stable engine of global growth: President Xi

BEIJING: International Import Expo opened in the Chinese city of Shanghai on Monday morning.
In his inaugural address, Chinese President Xi Jinping urged the countries to rise above their differences and strengthen their collaboration for an all inclusive growth.
He said we need to implement 2030 sustainable development goals and reduce imbalances in the development.
Alluding to the progress achieved by China over the last one and a half decade, President Xi said that China has succeeded in fully opening up its economy.
He said openness has become trademark of China. He said China has grown by embracing the world which has also benefitted from our openness.
President Xi said that his country will remain advocate of openness and will continue to act as a stable engine of global growth.
President Xi said China’s initiative to expand imports is not a makeshift, but long-term consideration of embracing the world and future while promoting common development.
He said all the countries should stick to innovation and accelerate the transition with traditional growth drivers being replaced by new ones. He said all the countries should oppose protectionism and unilateralism.
He noted that economic globalization is an irreversible historical trend and provides strong momentum for the world economic development.
Chinese President hosts banquet for guests attending CIIE
Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted a banquet in honor of the international guests attending the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also attended the banquet.
