Dastgir meets his Tajik counterpart in Dushanbe; called for defence cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defence, Engr Khurram Dastgir Khan, who is in Dushanbe met his Tajik counterpart Lieutenant General Sher Ali Mirzo
In his meeting with Tajik Minister Khurram Dastgir emphasized that being neighbours of Afghanistan both Pakistan and Tajikistan are facing identical security challenges and threats.
He said that Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of all issues and appreciates the efforts of Tajikistan in promotion of peace and stability in the region.
Dastgir said China Pakistan Economic Corridor will further provide new and unique opportunities for enhancing connectivity and integration from Gwadar to Kashgar and Muryhab in Tajikistan.
He called for exploring new avenues of defence cooperation as Pakistan has adequately advanced defence industries, which produce quality products.
The defence miniser also held a meeting with UN Under Secretary General for counter-terrorism, Vladimir Voronkov. AFP
