HARIPUR - Electricity generation from Tarbela dam has reached to lowest level after closure of 12 power generation units Tuesday due to the low water level in the lake.
According to the Tarbela Dam officials, the water level of Tarbela dam remained 7 feet above the dead level which is 1388 feet, where only five power generation units are producing 325 megawatts electricity and they are also not working with full capacity either.
The Tarbela dam officials disclosed that owing to decreased water inflow in the dam the capacity of Tarbela power production reduced from 3478 megawatts to only 325 megawatts.
Water inflow in the dam was 19600 cusecs and outflow 20000 cusecs feet, dam officials also stated that owing to the low inflow of water we have decreased the outflow in Ghazi Brotha and Indus River.
A huge cut in power generation also increased the load shedding and water supply for Khreef crop have also reduced which affect the crops in Punjab and Sind provinces.
