Army Chief arrives in Awaran today

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa is scheduled to visit Awaran, Balochistan today (Monday).

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS spent his night in Turbat where he met tribal elders.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bazinjo, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa and Frontier Corps Balochistan (South) Inspector General Major General Tariq Aman were also present in the meeting.

Earlier, speaking at the concluding ceremony of three day Makran Festival in Turbat, the COAS said presence of such a large gathering at this festival is testimony of the fact that Balochistan is moving towards peace and prosperity which is future of Pakistan’s progress as well.

The Army Chief said provision of civic facilities and peaceful environment in less developed areas of Balochistan is a dream coming true. He said Khushal Balochistan program is aimed at fulfilment of this right.

At the end of the ceremony fireworks were also held which added colour to the festive mood of the spectators.
