Women Protection Bill challenged in Shariah Court

ISLAMABAD: Women Protection Bill has been challenged in Federal Shariah Court. The Bill has been challenged by Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology Moulana Sherani here at Friday.
As per details, Moulana Sherani took plea that Women Protection Bill is against the constitution and ideology of Pakistan.
The Women protection Bill was passed by Punjab Assembly last week to provide legal protection to women from domestic, psychological and sexual violence.
The bill was being criticized by religious parties after its approval from Punjab Assembly. Council of Islamic ideology has also declared bill un-Islamic and demanded to replace it with new bill.
Several clerics’ major religious leaders have also called the law to be replaced.
