Merit based system being ensured to bring economic stability: Information Minister

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has said the government is committed to a merit based system to bring economic stability in Pakistan.
Talking to private news channel, he said the government is working to reform the National Accountability Bureau to hold the elements accountable who destroyed the state institutions through their corrupt practices.
The minister said the opposition parties were trying to disrupt the process of accountability in order to protect their leaders, who had plundered the national wealth.
Shibli Faraz said previous governments made inductions in government institutions without merit, even in Radio Pakistan some 870 persons without observing the principles of merit.
He said the government restoring the principles of merit in the national institutions.
The Senator Faraz said the golden shake hand policy is being introduced in Pakistan Steel Mills to revive the sick unit.
He said legislation is being done to empower women in the country.
To a question, the minister said the leaders of the PPP and the PML-N were using the national institutions for personal gains and they have left them in shambles.
