Special prayers for Wani on Friday, shutdown on Sunday

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, special prayers will be offered tomorrow and complete shutdown will observed on Sunday to commemorate the second martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, and those killed during mass uprising erupted after his killing by the Indian troops on 8th of July in 2016.

Call for the fateha khawani in mosques on Friday and observance of complete shutdown on Sunday has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The JRL in a joint statement issued in Srinagar also said that it would hold a public meeting in Tral on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Joint Resistance Leadership denounced the assertions of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, saying that Kashmir is neither an issue of development nor administration but it is a longstanding issue and the world community has agreed to decide its political destiny through the right to self-determination.
