JRL seeks UN intervention for peaceful South Asia

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has expressed serious concern over the use of aggressive and repressive measures by the Indian authorities against peaceful and unarmed civilians and pro-freedom leadership in the territory.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement in Srinagar has condemned the nocturnal raids, ransacking of properties by the Indian troops and said that the pursuing the struggle for right to self-determination is Kashmiris birth right. The leadership said that youth are being killed during custody.

The Joint Resistance Leadership also appealed to the UN to impress upon India to stop brutalities and demanded unbiased intervention to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in the larger interest of peaceful an  d prosperous South Asia.
