Sindh Apex Committee meeting: COAS issues vital instructions

KARACHI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javaid Bajwa presided over the meeting of the Sindh Apex Committee and reportedly was angered over state of the affairs and expressed displeasure over non-implementation of the Nation Action Plan and called for strict punishments for law breakers on Tuesday. 

The army chief said that the National Action Plan should be implemented in letter and spirit. The army chief was also displeased at the issue of prisoners escaping from Karachi jail.

“Those who were involved in the escape of prisoners should be given strict punishments,” he said. “Sustainable peace can only be maintained through the writ of the state,” he said.

DG Rangers had briefed the participants of the meeting regarding the security situation of the city. The army chief said that in order to maintain law and order, Pakistan Army would help state institutions.
