Car bomb blast in Peshawar

PESHAWAR – At least six people, including two women, were injured in a blast in Kala Bari market in the Saddar area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital on Saturday morning, rescue officials said.

Those injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, whereas, the security forces cordoned off the blast site. However, the nature of the blast has not been determined as yet. TV screengrab photo.

The explosive material was installed in a parked car near a local mosque. The vehicle and nearby shops were completely damaged, they added. link

KP Information Minister Shaukat Yousufzai said the area is generally peaceful and has not been affected by any major incidents recently.

He confirmed that four people were injured but said three of them suffered minor injuries, such as being cut by glass during the explosion. One person’s injuries were slightly more severe, said the minister.

The injured people were identified as Ibraheem, son of Baadi Gull, a resident of Rehman Town, Muhammad Farooq, son of Deen Muhammad who is a resident of Saddar, and Mukhtiyara Bibi.
