Afghan Military claims killing 25 Taliban militants

KABUL - At least 25 Taliban insurgents were killed in a military operation in central Ghazni province on Sunday, the Provincial Police Office said in a statement on Monday.

In addition, 13 other insurgents were wounded.

The “Nabard-e-Ahanin” operation was launched a week ago in Deh Yak district of the province to clear the area of insurgents. The operation is still ongoing, it said, adding that “the air force is also supporting the forces.”

A number of weapons were also discovered during the operation, it added.

However, the statement did not provide further details.

The Taliban has not yet commented about the operation.
