PTI government plans major changes in the CSS exams process in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federal government is planning to make several significant changes in the Central Superior Services (CSS) examination process.
According to various reports, the government has decided to slash the upper age limit for CSS examination by 2 years. Currently, the upper age limit for appearing in the CSS examination is 30 years. The new upper age limit will be set to 28 years if the latest changes are implemented. The relaxation in age for government employees will also be reduced by 4 years which was previously 32 years. ------------------------------
Moreover, Central Superior Services (CSS) will be renamed to the Central Services of Pakistan. The proposed changes aim to end the differences between candidates from science and social backgrounds.
Examination of Central Services of Pakistan will have a percentile score system that will judge all candidates equally. ------------------------------
The special quota reserved for candidates hailing from underdeveloped parts of the country will also be eliminated. Central Services of Pakistan will assess candidates on their educational capabilities rather than domicile.
However, when the proposed changes will come into effect remains unclear.
