ECP unveils new measures to enhance voters registration across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza says Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has always successfully and efficiently performed its responsibilities as per the country's constitution.
Addressing a ceremony regarding National Voters Day in Islamabad on Thursday, he said we took several steps aimed at further strengthening the commission to smoothly run the electoral process.
He said the ECP paid special attention towards inclusion of women and underprivileged segment of the society in all the stages of elections.
He said the ECP also took several measures with regard to creating awareness amongst people for exercising their right to vote in the best interest of the country.
He said the peaceful conduct of 2018 general elections was an important milestone.
The Chief Election Commissioner appealed the general public to get themselves registered in the voters list at the earliest.
Expressing his views, ECP Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad said the Election Commission of Pakistan fulfilled all its obligations in a dignified and well organized manner.
He said the ECP has established twenty-four thousand display centers in all the districts to facilitate the people in verification of their documents for vote.
He said the National Voters Day is celebrated to highlight the importance of vote so that the nation could play its due role in the country's progress through ensuring their contribution in the democratic process.
