ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Cricket team Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has been ditched by his favourite head coach Mickey Arthur who has sought his replacement as captain.
Pakistan cricket team’s head coach, Mickey Arthur has suggested removal of the current skipper Sarfraz Ahmed as captain of the side, while he himself seeks a two-year extension as the head coach.
According to sources, the South African did not have much of a praise for the Champions Trophy-winning captain and suggested the young Shadab Khan and Babar Azam as his replacements in limited-over and Test cricket respectively to lead the team.
“Arthur did have some negative things to say about Sarfaraz’s captaincy skills to the members,” the source said.
Arthur believes he can produce significant results if he is given an extension.
“I need two more years with the Pakistan team and then I can deliver remarkable results,” Arthur is cited telling the Committee, headed by PCB Managing Director Wasim Khan.
