Government should ensure to stop gas theft

ISLAMABAD: Standing Committee of National Assembly on Government Assurances Thursday asked the government to stop gas theft in the Karak District.

The meeting of the Standing Committee held here at Parliament Lodges under Chairmanship of Chief Whip and Chairman, Standing Committee on Government Assurances, Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar.

The Committee informed that Natural Gas being theft in Karak district and the government was trying its best to stop the theft.

The Standing Committee directed that SNGPL should take action against the gas pilferers.

However, the Committee of the opinion that the people of Karak should be provided regular connections of gas, so that the gas theft could be reduced and the income of the government could also be increased.

The Standing Committee informed that the health related issues of the Urban Areas of Islamabad are dealt with by the Interior Ministry. Whereas, the health related institutions of rural Islamabad are under the administrative control of Ministry of Health.

The Committee was briefed about the activities of Ministry of Interior to control the dengue virus.

It was told that all such ditches, where the dengue could grow, have been filled by mud or lime so that no breeding of dengue mosquitoes could take place.

The Ministry of Interior also informed that the streams, coming down to the city Islamabad from the Margalla Hills, are being kept clean and their banks are also being kept green, so that their natural beauty could be maintained.

The Standing Committee considered the incident of electric shock to an innocent boy of 8 year old, Muhammad Umer.

The Standing Committee informed that an electric meter had been installed at the home of said Muhammad Umer.

A stipend will also been given to the said boy till he attains the age of 25.

MNAs including Mujahid Ali, Khalid Hussain Khan Magsi, Ms. Shahnaz Naseer Baloch, Usman Ibrahim, Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, Shahid Ahmed, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi attended the meeting.
