Met Office predicts heavy rainfall in next 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (APP): Rain-thunderstorm associated with gusty winds with isolated heavy falls/hailstorm is expected at a number of places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in next 24 hours.
Duststorm/gusty winds may increase more than 100 km/hour in upper parts of the country including Islamabad and Rawalpindi division.
Rain-dust/thunderstorm associated with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in KP Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, D.I. Khan divisions, FATA, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, an official of Met office Imran Siddiqui told APP.
Rain-dust/thunderstorm associated with gusty winds is also expected at isolated places in D.G. Khan, Multan and Sahiwal divisions.
Heavy falls with hailstorm are also expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Islamabad. Due to heavy falls there is a risk of flash flooding and landsliding in vulnerable areas of Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir.
A westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist till Thursday.
In last 24 hours rain/dust-thunderstorm associated with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in KP, FATA, upper Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Bahawalnagar and Barkhan.
