Senior PTI member survives fatal attack

On Monday, Khalid Khurshid Khan, the former chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and also the president of PTI in GB, narrowly escaped an attack in the Astore area.

He was en route to participate in a by-election campaign when he and his colleagues were ambushed and shot at in the Chowgam area of Astore District, as reported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on their official platform, X (formerly Twitter). Fortunately, Khan and his companions emerged unharmed from the incident. PTI strongly condemned the attack and called for the immediate apprehension of those responsible.

The party also issued a stern warning, holding the government responsible for any harm inflicted upon PTI members, including Khalid Khurshid Khan. Additionally, Farrukh Habib, PTI's president in West Punjab, revealed that the security detail for the former chief minister had been removed a few days prior to the attack.
