On September 1st, the Lahore High Court had ordered the release of Pervez Elahi and had also instructed not to arrest him in any case. However, NAB (National Accountability Bureau) has filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court against the single bench's decision regarding the release and non-arrest of Pervez Elahi.
In the appeal, NAB argues that the single bench did not properly assess the facts and issued the release order without considering the legality of not arresting him in any case. The appeal requests that the single bench's decision be legally set aside until a final decision is reached on appeal.
It is worth noting that on September 1st, after being released by the Lahore High Court, Pervez Elahi was re-arrested by Islamabad Police when he reached Canal Road. The police apprehended him, took him into custody, and transported him in a vehicle. According to authorities, Pervez Elahi has been arrested for 15 days under the authority of the DCO (Deputy Commissioner Officer) and will be transferred to Adiala Jail for the same period, although he was initially taken to Attock Jail that night.
