In Liaqatpur, a drug inspector and his assistant have been accused of targeting a woman for apparent harassment, prompting the affected woman to file a case against the culprits. According to the FIR (First Information Report), Dr. Irfan and his assistant Nazuk allegedly singled out a woman named Balqees for harassment at an obvious point.
Balqees, along with her daughter Rabia Munir, operates a clinic named "Gulshan Fareed" in the area. The clinic remained open after the government's imposed lockdown following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The drug inspector reportedly visited Balqees at her residence without prior notice and allegedly subjected her to harassment. An audio recording of the drug inspector's assistant Nazuk making threats to Balqees's husband became public, leading to the Health Department launching an inquiry in response to Balqees's complaint.
Subsequently, the Chemist Association called for a strike in protest of the FIR filed against the drug inspector, and his contact number was temporarily disconnected.
