Date set for Nawaz Sharif's return to Pakistan

The PML-N leadership has been assigned the responsibility of welcoming Nawaz Sharif, who is scheduled to arrive in Lahore from London on October 15 via a private airline flight, as per insider sources. Maryam Nawaz has taken charge of the preparations for organizing a party gathering to celebrate Sharif's return to the country. Additionally, party leaders have been given clear instructions to ensure maximum worker participation in this gathering.

It is worth noting that PML-N leaders had consistently stated that Sharif would only return to Pakistan when the perceived risks were reduced to zero, particularly concerning legal complications. Khawaja Asif of the PML-N expressed this sentiment in an interview with Geo News on Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath on August 15. He emphasized their desire to prevent any score-settling or unfavorable judicial decisions and reiterated that Sharif would return once all risks against him were eliminated.

Columnist Javed Chaudhry echoed similar views during an interview with Aaj News on August 4. He stated that Sharif was awaiting September 16, possibly hoping for more favorable conditions following the retirement of the current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Umar Ata Bandial. However, Chaudhry expressed doubt that Sharif would return even after September 16, indicating Sharif's desire for apologies from both the judiciary and the establishment.
