SC orders inquiry into alleged mistreatment of Maneka's family

ISLAMABAD: A three member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has ordered complete inquiry into the incidents of maltreatment to Khawar Maneka family.
The apex court said that action will be taken against the police officials found involved in the maltreatment.
The apex court also directed Inspector General Punjab police to investigate and submit report within a week about political interference in the matter.
The chief justice in his remarks said that police will be freed from political influence through reforms.
He said the incident that took place with Khawar Maneka and his daughter will not be tolerated.
