The decision for Mohammad Rizwan's alternate wicket-keeper has been made in case of any injury or non participation in any match. According to the details, during the World Cup, in case of Rizwan's absence in any match, the senior batsman will take up the wicket-keeping duties.
During the warm-up match between Pakistan and Australia in the World Cup, the commentary panel announced that if, for any reason, Mohammad Rizwan cannot participate in a match during the tournament, then Imam-ul-Haq will take over the wicket-keeping responsibilities.
It should be noted that the announced squad for Pakistan includes Babar Azam (Captain), Shadab Khan (Vice-Captain), Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan (Wicket-Keeper), Wasim Jr., Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Osama Mir.
In the reserve players, Muhammad Haris, Abrar Ahmed, and Zaman Khan are included. Reserve players can become part of the 15-member squad if any member of the announced 15-member squad is unable to participate in the entire tournament.
Remember, Pakistan's team will kick off their tournament campaign on October 6th, facing the Netherlands, which has qualified for the ICC Cricket World Cup for the fifth time. The most anticipated match of the tournament will be played on October 14th when India and Pakistan clash in Ahmedabad. Pakistan has not yet achieved success against India in any ICC Cricket World Cup, making it a challenging task for Babar Azam and his team.
Furthermore, the Indian team appears confident in continuing their winning streak against Pakistan in the upcoming mega event. In contrast, the performance of the Pakistani team in the Asia Cup was disappointing, and rumors of internal issues among their senior players have also surfaced. Additionally, the injury to fast bowler Naseem Shah has added to their challenges. It will be interesting to see how the Pakistani team copes with these challenges in the highly anticipated event.
