LAHORE – Interpol arrests Pakistani from Saudi Arabia involved in high profile murder in Pakistan.

A brother of slain Pakistani model Qandeel Baloch has been arrested in Saudi Arabia in connection with her murder case.

Arif, who was nominated in FIR under 109 PPC and was avoiding arrest for almost three years, was arrested through Interpol with the help of his Kafeel (sponsor) in Jeddah.

Qandeel was found dead in her house in Multan on July 16, 2016. Her parents told police that she was killed by her brother Waseem in the name of honour.

Waseem had fled the scene at the time of the murder and later recorded his statement before the magistrate under Section 164. He had also confessed to his crime with the DNA and forensic report confirming his involvement in the murder of his sister.

Earlier, in July 2017, Azeem Baloch, Qandeel’s father said he had not forgiven his son, and recommended strict punishment to him in accordance with the law.

Now Arif is alleged to have remained in telephonic contact with the prime accused Waseem. Evidence in this regard was found from forensic report of Waseem’s mobile phone.
