Afghan Taliban responds to Ramzan ceasefire calls in Afghanistan

KABUL - In Afghanistan, Taliban has rejected calls for a Ramadan ceasefire.

In a statement, Taliban said US and NATO troops must withdraw from the country first.

On the other hand, NATO Senior Civilian Representative for Afghanistan Nicolas Kay says the alliance will remain in Afghanistan to train, assist and advise the Afghan forces in their fight against terrorists until there is a durable peace in the country.

Addressing a ceremony in Herat, he said the international community will not allow Afghanistan to once again become a safe haven for “terrorists”.
