Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Thursday officially nominated Sadiq Sanjrani for Senate Chairmanship.
According to the details, the Minister for Information Shibli Faraz tweeted that Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced Sanjrani for Senate chairmanship. Sadiq Sanjrani would be government’s candidate.
Back in July 2019, the opposition had submitted a resolution of no-confidence against Sadiq Sanjrani as a first-step towards mounting pressure on the PTI-led coalition government. However, Sanjrani survived the no-trust vote after 14 lawmakers from the opposition ditched their party leadership by either voting against their own resolution or deliberately wasting their votes.
Born on April 14, 1978 in Nokkundi, Balochistan, Mr. Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani earlier took oath as Chairman of the Upper House on 12th March 2018. He holds the unique distinction being the youngest Chairman of the Senate.
Holding a Master’s Degree in International Relations, Mr. Sadiq Sanjrani bears a dynamic persona that infuses professional acumen with humanitarian verve.
With an impeccable knowledge of finance, economy, trade, commerce and industry, as well as geo-political and international affairs, he has to his credit an impressive public sector administration career and social work profile. Pursuing an unmistakable ‘Pakistan and People First vision’, his professional and political engagements reflect resolute commitment to national and people’s interests.
