Christiano Ronaldo makes historic record

With his first-half goal, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score in three Champions League finals.

Ronaldo also scored with Manchester United in the 2008 final against Chelsea, and with Real Madrid in the 2014 final against Atletico Madrid. Last year, when Real Madrid again defeated Atletico in the final, he converted the deciding penalty kick in the shootout.

The goal on Saturday in Cardiff also allowed Ronaldo to tie Lionel Messi as the top scorer in this year’s competition with 11.

Ronaldo is the only player to have scored more than 100 goals in the Champions League.
