Bangladesh court sentences nine Jamat-e-Islami members to death

A Bangladesh court has sentenced nine members of the main opposition party Jamaat-e-Islami to death and handed life terms to another 25 on the charge of attempting to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid twenty five years ago.
Government lawyer said thirteen people were also jailed for 10 years for their part in the attack on a train carrying Hasina Wajid in 1994.
