Another suspect in Mashal murder case apprehended: DPO

MARDAN: The Mardan police have arrested one of the few suspects, at large, in the lynching of Mashal Khan – a journalism student of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM).
Mardan District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed said the suspect named as Izhar alias Juni was arrested from Saddar area of Mardan.The suspect was in possession of a Kalashnikov, a Kalakov and a pistol, he added.
The suspect was wanted to the police for eight months the DPO said and added that as many as 58 suspects were in custody whereas three were still at large.
Meanwhile, the murder case of Mashal Khan is pending in an anti-terrorism court inside Haripur Jail wherein at the last hearing Mashal’s father Mohammad Iqbal had recorded his statement.
