US and India collaborating in manufacture of new air craft carrier

WASHINGTON: Top US Navy admiral will coordinate with India to build an aircraft carrier which will be the biggest military collaboration between India and US.
The agreement was decided during Obama’s visit to India last year.
India purchased an aircraft carrier from Russia in 2014 and is also building a local one which will be inducted in the field in 2018-2019.
USA wants to counter China’s expanding military power in the region.
US officials said that a meeting will be held later this month to discuss the design and construction of the required Indian aircraft carrier.
The electromagnetic technology will be the special agenda of talks which enables heavier planes to fly from an aircraft carrier.
