NAB summons Imran Khan on Aug 7 for excessive use of state helicopters

ISLAMABAD: The anti-corruption watchdog, NAB, has summoned PTI chief Imran Khan on August 7 for his excessive use of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa helipcopters.
Former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa CM Pervez Khattak and other officials have already recorded their statement in the case.
On July 18, the anti-corruption watchdog had ordered the PTI chief to appear after a discrepancy emerged regarding his use of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government’s two helicopters.
According to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Imran has stated in his official documents that he used the helicopters for 74 hours while in reality he used them for 166 hours. One of the helicopters broke down due to excessive use. It was sent to Karachi and will now be taken to Russia for an overhaul.
The bureau later allowed Imran’s request to appear before it on August 7. His lawyer, Babar Awan, petitioned the bureau to change the date because the PTI chief was ‘busy’ with the election campaigns.
