Fazal ur Rehman meets Afghanistan Ambassador, both talked against PM Khan

ISLAMABAD - The leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal Maulana Fazalur Rehman met with Shukrullah Atif Mashal, the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan.
The Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad in a statement said the meeting took place earlier today in which current regional situation, Afghan peace process, and bilateral relations between Kabul and Islamabad were discussed.
The statement further added that the two sides emphasized that peace process should be led and owned by Afghans.
They also added that the regional and other countries should respect the sovereignty of Afghanistan and prevent from interference in internal affairs of each other. The remarks came in the backdrop of PM Imran Khan comments on Afghanistan elections Process.
Maulana Fazalur Rehman was previously supporting the Taliban-led insurgency in Afghanistan and was famous as ‘spiritual father’ of the group but it seems his stance has recently changed regarding the situation in Afghanistan.
