Diplomatic corps briefed on Pakistan's counter-terror actions

Secretary Foreign Affairs Tehmina Janjua and Secretary Interior Major (Retd) Azam Suleman Khan briefed the diplomatic corps on the recent counter terrorism efforts of Pakistan under the National Action Plan in Islamabad.
According to a press release issued by the Foreign Office, the Secretary Interior gave an overview of Pakistan's contribution to the fight against terrorism.
He said that National Security Committee at its meeting on 1st of January reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to the fight against terrorism and extremism and expedite implementation of the National Action Plan.
The Secretary Interior also apprised the diplomats about the measures to strengthen Pakistan's administrative and legal framework for countering terrorism and against financing of terrorism in accordance with its international obligations.
It was underscored that the recent counter terrorism actions taken by Pakistan are concrete, verifiable and irreversible and would continue until terrorism and extremism are eliminated from the country.
