Karachi operation has restored peace in metropolitan city: Khurram

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan has said Karachi operation was yielding positive results in elimination of terrorism activities from the metropolitan city.
The incident of terrorism, target killing, street crime and extortion had reduced to a great extent due to the successful operation in the city, he talking to a private news channel said.
The minister said Karachi operation was entered into an important phase that was why cooperation of police department was essential in this regard.
Karachi was an economic hub of Pakistan, he said and added that law and order of Karachi was not a provincial subject.
He said the appointment of A D Khawaja was not a complicated matter but it would be resolved soon. The issue of appointment of A D Khawaja as Inspector General of Police Sindh was subjudice, he added.
Khurram Dastgir said the federal government wanted to such person who would continue the operation till conclusion.
