RIYADH: PM Narendra Modi awarded with Saudi Arabia highest civil award

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi awarded with Saudi Arabia's highest civil award “the King Abdulaziz Sash” at the Royal Court by King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz.

 

The award is named after the founder of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Al Saud and has been awarded to five other leaders from different countries which includes Japan, Britain, US, Russia and Egypt.

 

Modi was on an official visit of Saudi Arabia where he met with King Salman and other leaders of the Kingdom.

 

Modi held talks with regards to enhancing bilateral ties and increase cooperation in counter terrorism.

 

Both leaders also signed agreements in defence and security cooperation, energy sector, labour cooperation and increase bilateral investments in private sector.

 

Modi visited historical places and met with Indian community which sends a remittance of US$ 10 billion to India ever year.

 

Modi gifted King Salman a gold-plated replica of an ancient Mosque in Kerala, India.

 

King Salman hosted a lunch for Modi at Royal Court where Modi met with Saudi officials and Royal Family members.
