Melbourne, Dec 4: Melbourne Renegades has roped in Pakistan all-rounderFaheem Ashraf and left-arm pacer Usman Shinwari for the upcoming season ofthe Big Bash League (BBL), starting December 17 in Brisbane.
While Shinwari will be available for the first seven games of the season,Ashraf will be there for eight matches and will be replaced by England’sHarry Gurney and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi respectively for the remainderof the league.
Ashraf will be featuring in his maiden BBL stint, Shinwari was a part ofthe Renegades in 2018.
“I’m pleased with how we’re shaping up,” Michael Klinger, Renegades’ newhead coach, said.
“Mohammad Nabi and Harry Gurney showed their class last season so we’reglad to have them on board for the second half of the home and away seasonand hopefully finals.
After winning a title, the competition for spots in the XI is going to befierce and we feel we’ve got plenty of options to cover the challenges thatwe’ll be confronted with throughout the season,” he added.
