ISLAMABAD – The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has taken importantdecision over agriculture subsidy.
ECC has recommended a supplementary grant of Rs. 1.80 billion foragriculture tube well subsidy on the proposal of Ministry of Energy (PowerDivision).
The meeting of the ECC was held on Tuesday. Finance Minister Asad Umarchaired the meeting.
On a proposal of Ministry of Commerce, relating to export of sugar, the ECCapproved waiving off of the condition related to the start of crushing on15 November. The committee observed that the matter relating to freightsupport etc for exports fall in the domain of the respective provincialgovernments. With regard to the outstanding claims for the previous years,the committee directed finance division to release the budgeted amount.
ECC allowed allocation of up to 30 MMCFD gas from Zafir field, districtSanghar, to Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL).
