CM Shahbaz Sharif admits meeting COAS General Bajwa

*LAHORE*: Speaking to the media after Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institutein Lahore, CM Shehbaz Sharif has shared that he had met the army chief andstated that the army chief is a professional and straightforward man.

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif remarked on Wednesday that thenation and the political players must respect and honour the endeavoursundertaken by the Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa andthat civil and military authorities must work together to counter thechallenges facing Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif further said that he had read about the ‘Bajwa Doctrine’ inthe news and asserted, ” We must respect and honour the endeavoursundertaken by the army chief”.

CM Shehbaz also weighed in on the role of National Accountability Bureau(NAB) in the country and remarked that the bureau is quite active thesedays.

He remarked that if a transparent accountability system helps the countrymove forward, then it will be a great success.

On the controversy surrounding Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project, heremarked that no evidence regarding corruption in the project has surfacedand claimed that the protests and strikes have led to a 22-month delay inthe project. “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) put up hurdles [in wake ofprogress] so that the citizens are not able to reap benefits of differentfacilities,” he remarked.

He further rubbished Imran Khan’s claims regarding in the project andstated that none of the allegations were proven.
