Tariq Mateen, Key Journalist alleged of murder by top PMLN leader

Azma Zahid Bokhari, the Secretary Information of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) in Punjab, has made a grave accusation against journalist Tariq Mateen, alleging his involvement in the killing of her brother Athar. This incident unfolded in the realm of social media, as reported by ARY News on a Sunday.

The source of this confrontation was a post by journalist Tariq Mateen on the social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, where he raised questions about the American contractor Raymond Davis' lawyer. In response, Azma Zahid Bokhari responded with a provocative query, questioning the morality of being a lawyer compared to someone who takes a life for the sake of property.

It's worth noting that Azma Zahid Bokhari's father, Zahid Hussain Bokhari, had previously represented Raymond Davis, a former CIA employee, as his attorney. This representation occurred in 2011 during a critical diplomatic standoff between Pakistan and the United States, triggered by Davis' arrest for the murder of two men, Faizan and Faheem, in Lahore.

In the aftermath of this public spat, Azma Zahid Bokhari faced sharp criticism from the journalistic community for her serious allegations against Tariq Mateen regarding her brother Athar's death. Undeterred, she defended her statement, emphasizing that it was inappropriate to slander a deceased individual, especially in front of journalists who were attempting to impart moral lessons.

She also highlighted that her late father's involvement in the Raymond Davis case had been a source of controversy for years, despite his role as counsel during the trial.
