Rescue 1122: "Role of media in prevention of emergencies" workshop

LAHORE (APP): Punjab Emergency (Rescue 1122) Director General Brig (R) Dr Arshad Zia has emphasized on the need of community awareness and role of the media as change agent in society.
He said this while presiding over a workshop titled "The Role of Media in Prevention of Emergencies" by the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) here on Friday.
The main purpose of the workshop is to have an interactive session with the beat reporters and share with them the vision of prevention of emergencies as envisaged by Director General Brig (R) Dr Arshad Zia.
Dr Arshad Zia in his address briefed the participants about the "Role of Media in Prevention of Emergencies". He said the duty of the journalist usually ended after the reporting of emergency but, in fact, they were the opinion formers of society and if they played their true role of awareness, it could help in prevention of emergencies.
Public Relations Officer (HQs) Faheem Jehan Zaib and other officers of Rescue 1122 participated in the workshop.
