PPP new party set up in Punjab: Stalwarts shortlisted

ISLAMABAD (APP): The coordination committees of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have finalized the new party setup in Punjab and forwarded to Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for a formal announcement during this month.

The coordination committees finalized the names for top party slots at the provincial, divisional and district level, sources in the PPP told APP on Saturday.

The Central Punjab Committee consisted of Raja Pervez Ashraf, Rana Farooq Saeed, Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, Nadeem Asghar Kaira and Nadeem Afzal Chan.

Another similar coordination committee was constituted for South Punjab to select party leadership ahead of 2018 general elections.

The sources said that an important slot of the party would also be given to a family member of former party President in Punjab Manzoor Wattoo either at the divisional or the district level.

They said that Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Rana Farooq Saeed are strong candidates for the party top slots in the central Punjab.

So as far the president ship of South Punjab, the sources said that Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood is still considered to be a strong candidate.
