New US Consul General meets Shehbaz Sharif

LAHORE: (APP) Newly appointed American Consul General in Lahore Yuriy Fedkiw met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, here on Saturday.
The Chief Minister congratulated Yuriy Fedkiw on assuming his new responsibilities and expressed good wishes for him.
Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said that government is determined to make Pakistan a welfare state in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that all citizens including minorities have equal rights in the country.
The Chief Minister said that the whole nation is determined to rid the country of the menace of terrorism. He said that setting up of a society based on restraint, tolerance and harmony is the mission of government. He said that armed forces and people of Pakistan have rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the war against terrorism and despite difficult circumstances the brave Pak Army is successfully continuing the war against terrorists.
Shehbaz Sharif said that friendship between Pakistan and America is multi-dimensional. He hoped that relations between both the countries would be strengthened in future.
Speaking on the occasion, American Consul General Yuriy Fedkiw said that America attaches high importance to its relations with Pakistan.
He said that he had heard a lot about the work carried out by Shehbaz Sharif and now seen it personally. Quality and speed in the implementation of public welfare projects is the hallmark of the Chief Minister, he added.
