Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed willingness to build a new grand mosque in the capital city of Moscow. According to Russian media reports, President Putin has agreed to the proposal for the construction of a new mosque in Moscow, presented by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. Kadyrov had suggested building a new mosque in Moscow due to the increasing Muslim population in the city, and he met with Putin to discuss the idea.
President Putin has taken the initiative to construct a new mosque in the southern part of Moscow, in the Butovo area.
Kadyrov expressed his joy at Putin's acceptance of the proposal, stating that he is very pleased that the President has supported the construction of a new mosque in the capital city.
It should be noted that the Muslim population in Moscow is steadily growing, and there have been concerns about the shortage of space for worshippers, especially during religious holidays and Friday prayers.
