PTI Chairman Imran Khan's cipher case hearing to be held in Adiala Jail

The Ministry of Law has granted approval for the trial of former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the cipher case, which is currently being held at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

On Tuesday, the ministry issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) allowing the trial to proceed within the confines of the jail. In its official notification, the ministry specified that it does not object to the trial of Imran Khan Niazi, the accused, who is currently detained under the Official Secrets Act, taking place in the jail.

Earlier in the day, the Special Judge of the Official Secrets Act Court sent a letter to the Ministry of Law and Justice, seeking their opinion on whether the upcoming hearing for the cipher case should be conducted at Adiala Jail or at the judicial complex.

In the letter, Special Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain inquired about potential security concerns related to bringing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman to the court. The letter acknowledged Imran Khan's importance as a public figure and the leader of a political party, emphasizing that the court must consider his security.

If there are no security issues, the case will be heard in the judicial complex, as stated in the letter.
