PTI's former President of Peshawar City, Irfan Salim, has been released from the courtroom. The Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court has expressed concern that the Deputy Commissioner and the police have become so powerful that they do not follow court orders. Irfan Salim's request for release was heard in the high court.
Under the supervision of the SSP, Irfan Salim, who was arrested, was presented in court. Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan remarked on why the applicant was arrested despite court orders. If court orders are not followed, then we have no right to sit on the chair. Despite the division bench of this court and the Chief Justice's order, he was arrested.
The Deputy Commissioner replied that I was not aware of the court orders, and we arrested him under the new SP's order. The SSP operation also sent a letter stating that the law and order situation could deteriorate, so he was arrested. The Chief Justice said that the court had issued clear orders, and the police and session judges had also sent correspondence.
The Deputy Commissioner threw court orders into the dustbin. Someone dictated to the Deputy Commissioner, and he was arrested. If we take action against the Deputy Commissioner and set an example, it is also not right because he is not standing on his own feet.
The court ordered that the Chief Secretary and the IG Police should come and ensure that such incidents do not happen again. If anyone violates court orders, they will not be spared. Release the applicant from here. All the orders issued by the Chief Justice's division bench should be terminated.
