After the earthquake prediction by Dutch scientists in Quetta and Chaman, the residents of Quetta are feeling restless. In response, the Quetta administration has issued a statement to reassure the citizens.
Commissioner Quetta, Hamza Shafqat, mentioned that the meteorological department has not confirmed any earthquake prediction for Quetta and Chaman.
Despite repeated attempts by the public to contact them, they have not received any verification. He further stated that they are conducting mock drills in anticipation of any emergency situation and all relevant agencies, including the PDMA, FC, Army, civil administration, Levies, and the police, are prepared to respond.
Moreover, Hamza Shafqat emphasized that preemptive actions have already been taken against vulnerable structures and old buildings. Vigilance is being maintained 24/7 to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. While it's impossible to predict the exact timing or intensity of an earthquake, staying informed and prepared is crucial for the residents.
